Abnormal Loads

Roadtrain has the expertise and experience to carry out your most demanding haulage requirements.

Roadtrain will arrange and implement the complete process involved in Abnormal load transport, from first contact, through route planning, Local Authority Permits, Garda/Police involvement, escort/pilot car requirements.

Roadtrain has GPS Tracking installed in our vehicles, which enables both Roadtrain and the customer to monitor via our web page the progress of the load with live access to the exact position at all times.

Abnormal Load Permit

Loads in excess of the following dimensions require an
Abnormal Load Permit to travel by road:

Width: 2.6m
Length: 18.5m
Weight: 44 tonne
Height: 4.25m

Each abnormal load journey leg will require a separate application to each of the council areas through which it is proposed to travel. Each application requires a different form, requesting different amounts of information, with different lead-in times and, a fee in each case.
